Author.
I’ve been writing since I was small, first poetry scribbled in pencil in a red silk-bound journal that a family friend–a flight attendant for Pan Am–brought me from Asia. Then short stories written on wide-ruled paper, my cursive carefully spaced out between the dotted lines. Next came the first novel I ever wrote, furtively written during German class in high school, longhand in three spiral-bound notebooks. It would be years before I was published, but now I have seven books to my name: six novels (one forthcoming), and one non-fiction. Click on my Books page for more detailed information about each of my published works.
Editor.
It can be hard to edit your own work; trust me, I know, because I’ve been doing it for years and it still isn’t easy! Sometimes you just need someone else’s eyes on your manuscript. That’s where I come in. I love working with writers to unblock and unlock their creativity and get them to the next level with their manuscript and their career. If you’re in need of an editor, check out my Editing Services page for all of the different ways that I can help you.
Speaker.
From classrooms (both live and virtual) to libraries, writing groups to book clubs, I can inspire and motivate students, writers, and readers. Visit my Speaking Engagements page for a sampling of workshops and topics I can speak about to you and your group.
*Note: whisky is made in Scotland, Canada or Japan. Whiskey is made in America (also known as bourbon). While single-malt Scotch is my drink of choice, I also love American-made whiskeys and am a proud member of LA’s Women Who Whiskey Club.
